Family Values/Moral Decline

I believe this nation suffered its most damaging and self-destructive blow with the imposition of the income tax.  How so, you say?  The facts are clear, this single act brought about the need for two paychecks to sustain a household and put each of us under the direct control of our servant.  No longer could the average American child benefit from having a parent physically present to teach and guide them.  Instead, the second parent is forced to go to work for the Federal government and despite the rhetoric of the Liberal leadership, the effect on the children of America are the least of their considerations.  It’s all about money and the exercise of power.

Today, it is all too common to find that The Jerry Springer Show is left to convey morals and disseminate a false sense of reality.  “Latch key” American children are the norm, as are children who are left to the care of sterile institutions, all day, every day.  Can it really be such a mystery as to why our youth seem to have no purpose, no hope and in many cases, no conscience?

Take a look around.  The differences in social, academic and spiritual development between children, who are home-schooled or have an actual parent present to guide them, and those who don’t, are astronomical.  The costs in terms of deviant behavior and destruction these lost children wreak are virtually incalculable.

The stock bureaucratic answer is always, “Don’t worry, mom, we’ll take care of little Johnny, but you’ll have to work a few more hours per week to pay the taxes, to afford this service”.  More time away from little Johnny.  Johnny goes bad, because of the sterile, politically correct institutional “care” he is subject to.

And what about the moral and religious Truths we, as parents have found that we want to pass on to our offspring?  Is it possible that the average parent’s nine minutes per day interaction with their child can compete with forty hours of milk toast indoctrination per week?  Little Johnny hears that we are only monkeys, there is no God, and his conscious is a psychiatric disorder, every day, all week long.

They may even decide he needs a mind-numbing drug should he experience a little frustration or anxiety.  Are you really going to compete with this indoctrination, in your NINE MINUTES per day?

Defining who “God” is, is a task only a parent can perform.

The singular act of eliminating the risk-laden, obnoxious theft of the fruits of your labor will begin a resurgence of the kind of moral character that built this country, and it will restore hope for our future generations.  Keep in mind, these are the same children who will be taking care of you in your old age.  Do you really want to risk it by continuing down our present slippery slope?

Only an isolated hermit with no sense of society could forward the notion that violence does not beget violence.

Of course the violence and depravity we see on television, in the theatres and in video games has a substantial effect on the psyches of our young.  This is especially clear where the child only gets his or her NINE MINUTES of interaction per day with a parent.  The sensible thing to do is to figure out how we can enjoy the excitement of action, but make it clear to children that it is all make-believe.

One answer is to try to put a stop to the production of such things, but then we would necessarily have to trust government to carry out the task and to make judgment calls on what is “appropriate” censorship.  That would be attacking violence with incompetence and it can’t be done.

So what then, can be done?  How about the parents more closely screening what their child is exposed to?  Remember the extra time we will have when one parent can stay home because we eliminated the income tax?

How about we simply ask the producers to add the “out takes” at the end of the movie, showing all the actors who got killed in the movie getting up and laughing and showing the audience that it was all an act?

I have a sense that Hollywood would meet society halfway, and stretch their creativity to stimulate our senses in other ways.   And I am sure they would appreciate a “presidential seal of approval” for their efforts…providing the president is a man or woman of character.

I have heard a woman who actually gave birth to a child claim “It takes a village to raise a child”, what a stupid thing to say.  Maybe her child, but not mine. The Truth is, it takes a Family, to raise a child.
