Politicans are not our friends - A PRO Prop. 207 argument

A well reasoned and articulate argument to vote FOR Prop. 207; Limiting Eminent Domain.

Read entire article by David Euchner here.

  Highlights:

"This proposition protects the rights of all property owners, rich and poor alike, from the misuse of eminent domain. The only people who stand to lose are politicians."

"Politicians hate Prop. 207 because it puts strict controls on how they may use eminent domain to take property. Small-town politicians — Democrats and Republicans alike — have been taking people's homes and small businesses and giving that property to real estate developers or large corporations."

Bob Barr gets it! Ronald Reagan understood it!

Former Congressman and US Attorney Bob Barr gets it. Just like Ronald Reagan did.

"If Republicans can be convinced to cast votes for a strong conservative candidate, albeit one with a "Libertarian" label rather than an "R" following his name", " If that happens, then politics in America really will have entered a new and positive era." (full article follows below)

And the best part? Rank and file Democrats will feel comfortable voting for that same candidate as well.

More and more Republicans and Democrats are starting to understand exactly what Sen. Zell Miller meant when he said that his party has left him. Their party is leaving them too.

The current Governor (D) and existing legislature (R controlled) passed a budget this year with a 20%+ increase in spending, all while both sides claiming that they can't work together. Well, I'd hate to see what they would spend if they could work together.

Editorial: Time to put U.S. under new management

Time to put U.S. under new management

Sept. 9, 2006 12:00 AM I find it both encouraging and worthy of appreciation that The Arizona Republic would see clear to provide the Libertarian Party some equal copy ("Party aim: To recruit members," Valley & State, Aug. 29.

When the Republicans were founded in Ripon, Wis., in 1854, no one believed they would amount to anything. Six years later, they put Abraham Lincoln in the executive mansion. The rest, as they say, is history.

However, today, paraphrasing the old TV car ad, "It's not your father's Republican Party."

Thirty-five years ago, in 1971, many of the nation's registered Democrats and Republicans had grown disheartened and cynical, feeling that the major parties had not only gone astray, but were actually merging with one another. In the kindling of this conjecture, a new political party, based upon the fundamental principles of both the Founding Fathers and their new constitutional republic, was established and came to life: the Libertarian Party.

We are now in a national crisis and find our time-honored codes and standards all but thrust aside in America: the Constitution effectively suspended, free speech suppressed, habeas corpus nullified, the right to keep and bear arms abrogated, and due process of law all but abolished. These are absolute facts and are not the only outrages that have been committed in the name of "national security" since 9/11.

Enough is enough. It is now time for a regime change in Washington, for a new political party - the Libertarian Party - to raise America from of the dregs of 152 years of Demopublican repression, tyranny, war, mediocrity and perpetual debt.

It is time to put both Washington and its officious minions under new management and re-establish our genuinely libertarian pedigree before our splendid, noble nation becomes as "obliviated" as ancient Rome. - William N. Gaillard, Prescott

HessForGovernor Government Corruption Position Paper - Silent Auction

Shhh! The Auction’s about to begin.

I read somewhere that elections are only pre-sale auctions of the labor of the common man, and now I know it’s true.

Most Arizonans would be surprised to find out that come Thursday, July 18th, 2002, the downtown Hyatt Regency will become the posh scene of a frantic bidding war. It’s not so much that there’s a secret auction taking place that taints the event, but that all of the items for sale belong to you and me. If there were a preview, you’d no doubt find a lot of eye-opening political realities, perhaps a publicly-funded stadium, or two, a light-headed publicly-funded rail scheme, maybe a special project to stabilize a contributor’s company, or some tax-breaks for ‘special’ industries, another alternative fuels bill and most definitely those unalienable rights we hear so much about.

HessForGovernor Political Corruption Position Paper

     Political Corruption

Americans of all backgrounds are sick and tired of the growing problem of political corruption and abuse. Every day more and more examples of the abuse of power by elected and appointed officials hit the newsstands. These problems are epidemic in both the Democratic and the Republican parties.

The House Bank -- set up with bipartisan support -- was supposed to be a convenient way for busy congressmen to cash their paychecks. What it turned out to be was a scam for many congressmen -- a way to write bad checks often totalling more than a congressman's pay. If you or I did this at our local bank, we would be subject to criminal prosecution and fines in most states. Why should congressmen allow themselves to do something wrong? Should we be surprised that a group of people who cannot balance their own checkbooks cannot balance our national budget?

     Naked Abuse of Power

“I don’t like the adult entertainment industry” he proclaimed, and it was clear that he would use any immoral, illegal and unethical means at his disposal to drive it from ‘his’ city. He is, after all Der Fürher von Phoenix— in his own depraved mind anyway.

Who can say which is worse, naked ladies prancing around on stage in a pay-for-entry private establishment for adults, or a megalomaniac who thinks a mere election to Bürgermeister (that’s ‘Mayor’ for all the readers who are limited to the ‘English only’ mentality) has imbued him with an unlimited God-like power over his subjects and the final judge as to what you (his employer) may or may not be exposed to?
